Bachelor of Science in Physics
California State University, Fullerton
June 2007
I am a proud alumnus of an intimate department committed to providing an excellent education and engaging undergraduate students in scientific research. Course requirements for the BS in physics included:
Within the department I participated in scholarly research activities with active scientists: Electron Scattering and Physics Education Research.
Beyond my education in physics, I enjoyed many wonderful opportunities while at California State University, Fullerton. I was encouraged to pursue various scholastic interests, which allowed me to engage in many courses in the Comparative Religion department. I looked at the interactions between science and religion throughout history and in contemporary times. I had the opportunity to participate in advanced probability and statistics courses in the mathematics department. This experience has allowed me to function in the world of quantum mechanics research without undue psychological anguish. I found a deep passion for biology and human health while taking advanced nutrition classes in the biochemistry department. Through the yoga classes, which I found in the kinesiology department, I discovered and developed a functional system for coping with and efficiently integrating new information in the midst of the noise and haste of academic life.
- Introductory Chemistry
- Classical Mechanics
- Electromagnetic Theory
- Thermodynamics and Statisical Mechanics
- Quantum Mechanics
- Mathematical Methods of Theoretical Physics
