Doctor of Philosophy in Physics
University of California, Riverside
anticipated: June 2012
My time in the physics department at the University of California, Riverside has been both challenging and rewarding. The first 18 months I mostly focused on required and elective course work, topics are listed in the MS Physics subsection. After successfully finishing my course work I began to look seriously at discovering and developing my Research Interests and finding a research advisor. This was a very interesting process for me, during which I learned a lot about myslef and how I relate to the world around me. After working with two different advisers on Biophysics and Frustrated Magnetism, I settled into my dissertation work on Weak Quantum Measurements, Decoherence Suppression, Quantum Error Correction, and Quantum Communication under the supervision and mentorship of Dr. Alexander Korotkov.
